AMMEX Gloveworks HD Orange Nitrile Powder Free Industrial Gloves: GWON

The AMMEX Gloveworks HD Orange Nitrile Powder Free Industrial glove was the first HD nitrile glove introduced in our lineup. Our orange nitrile glove is extra heavy duty, industrial grade, top of the line, and designed and manufactured for pros who need the best protection.

The Gloveworks Orange Nitrile glove has an aggressive, raised diamond texture that gives you an unbeatable grip in all circumstances. The high-visibility orange color also stands out, keeping everyone’s hands in sight for better safety. Gloveworks Orange Nitrile gloves have an 8-mil thickness, so they will last longer, and you will use fewer gloves over the course of a day’s work. The orange nitrile gloves feature extra protection from grease, gasoline, pesticides, cleaning solutions, and a long list of specialty chemicals.

The orange nitrile glove will help you work better and safer because you’ll know you have the power and control to finish the job right.

AMMEX Gloveworks HD Black Nitrile Powder Free Industrial Gloves: GWBN

AMMEX Gloveworks HD Black Nitrile Powder Free Industrial gloves are heavy duty and the perfect blend of power and control.  Whether you are a mechanic, plumber, painter, or in the food service industry, the last thing you want is to lose your grip. With the same aggressive, raised diamond texture as the Gloveworks Orange Nitrile gloves, the AMMEX Gloveworks Black Nitrile disposable gloves will help you work better and safer by maintaining a firm, consistent grip with a much higher level of dexterity.

AMMEX Gloveworks HD Black Nitrile Powder Free Industrial gloves share our same benefits as the orange nitrile gloves, but they are slightly thinner with a 6-mil thickness. These gloves have the dexterity you are looking for, but are still durable and resistant to punctures, tears, and rips. Pull them on, dig into the palm, and stretch the cuff. Put them to the test. These gloves will last longer, and you won’t change them as often as you would standard black nitrile gloves.

Our top-rated disposable HD Black Nitrile gloves are popular with automotive mechanics and car enthusiasts. The black color helps to conceal dirt, grease, and grime for a professional appearance.

AMMEX Gloveworks HD Green Nitrile Powder Free Industrial Gloves: GWGN

AMMEX Gloveworks HD Green Nitrile Powder Free Industrial gloves are the most recent addition to the AMMEX HD Nitrile Glove lineup.

Like the Gloveworks HD Orange Nitrile and Gloveworks HD Black Nitrile, the Gloveworks HD Green Nitrile has the aggressive raised diamond texture, with 60 percent more surface area, in order to provide a firm, consistent grip. The diamonds channel away liquids, so even when the glove is wet, you can still hold on tight. In addition, the raised diamond texture on the outside provides a reverse texture on the inside that helps air to circulate, keeping hands drier than non-textured nitrile, latex, or vinyl gloves.

The texture of the AMMEX Gloveworks Green Nitrile glove is one benefit, but the glove color and glove thickness just add to this glove’s uniqueness. The high-visibility green color really demands to be seen, so you won’t lose sight of your co-workers’ hands, and they won’t lose sight of yours. This is a major safety feature when you are working with heavy machinery or in dimly lit areas.

AMMEX Gloveworks Green Nitrile gloves boast an 8-mil thickness, which means they’re durable and resistant to punctures, tears, and rips – in fact, three times more resistant than latex or vinyl. Just like our orange and black nitrile disposable gloves, the Gloveworks HD Green Nitrile gloves will protect you against solvents, grease, pesticides, cleaning solutions, and many specialty chemicals.

Top Rated Nitrile Gloves

Once you’ve tried the AMMEX lineup of Gloveworks HD Nitrile Powder Free Industrial gloves in orange, black, or green, you won’t want to wear anything else. No other disposable glove measures up to their level of safety and comfort, and the diamond texture is in a class by itself.

Top JanSan Industry Growth Opportunities

Safety continues to be a major concern in the JanSan industry. Whether it’s protection from harsh chemicals, avoiding cross-contamination, or preventing the spread of infection – gloves are an essential tool for safety in the JanSan industry. Consider these recent reports highlighting the top JanSan industry growth opportunities.

Many facilities across all sectors – Healthcare, industrial, education, government, commercial, domestic, hospitality, and food service – rely on the products and services that the JanSan industry provides. The JanSan industry in the U.S. is projected to have annual growth of 33% reaching $2.0 billion by 2022.  In fact, the JanSan industry has the second-highest revenue growth potential of all sectors, indicating the market is ripe for expansion. The forecasted growth for the JanSan industry is positive with two sectors fueling the demand – Real Estate, and Healthcare.

Top SanJan Industry Growth Opportunities

  1. Commercial Real Estate:  After years of sluggish growth, office space is being leased at the fastest clip since the great recession, according to a recent report by Reis Inc. Employers added 15.3 million square feet of office space in the fourth quarter, more than any other quarter since the third quarter of 2007, according to real-estate research service Reis Inc. This news should prove positive for the professional cleaning industry.  Higher occupancy translates to more building space that needs to be cleaned, and more cleaning tools, equipment, and chemicals will need to be purchased.

  2. Infection Prevention in Healthcare:  The growing demand for infection prevention products and services is forecasted to positively impact the JanSan sector. According to a new study, “Infection Prevention Products & Services,” by Market to Market, the demand for infection prevention products and services is forecasted to expand 6.7% percent annually to $16.7 billion in 2020. The study also reveals that increasing pressures on hospitals and other healthcare facilities to decrease rates of healthcare-associated infections (HAIs) will boost revenues generated by infection prevention supplies, equipment, and services.

With the potential for vinyl, nitrile and latex glove sales, distributors do not want to miss out on the many sales opportunities in the JanSan industry. Workers use cleaning chemicals and other tools to perform their jobs, while the most important tool – personal protection equipment – is often ignored resulting in illness, injury, and fatalities.

3 Smart Sales Tips for JanSan Safety

Like other B2B industries, the JanSan market continues to experience major changes  – the rapid rise of disruptive technology – the social media revolution – buying power shifts with Millennials and Baby Boomers, distribution model changes and more. No matter how much the JanSan industry changes, there is always a need to protect the health and safety of workers.  In fact, recent reports indicate that market conditions in commercial real estate and the medical sectors are fueling growth in the JanSan industry.  How can you capitalize on the growth in SanJan?

3 Smart Sales Tips for JanSan Safety

  1. Stay current on Trends
Trends, such as increased health and safety, energy and labor savings, and sustainability, have fueled the cleaning industry and will continue to do so for years to come. Manufacturers in the JanSan industry will continue to invest in research and development and product innovation to stay on the cutting-edge.  This is a great outlook for distributors who will have a steady stream of new products that provide customers with innovative solutions to do their work safer and more efficiently. The needs are virtually endless and so is the income stream for those that stay informed and take action.
  2. Understand what matters
Find out what’s really important to your customers.  Do you really understand your customer’s unique needs?  Curiosity is a powerful trait. The most successful  businesspeople will tell you that curiosity is one of the best qualities a salesperson can have. Curious salespeople ask probing questions and take a genuine interest in learning about their clients. if you stop selling and start asking, you’ll find out what motivates them to make decisions, and, by listening, you’ve now built a trusting relationship. It’s a win-win-win.
  3. Promote Solutions
How do you add value?  Smart distributors understand this key fact – you don’t sell products – you sell solutions.  When describing the JanSan products that you sell, be specific about the problems that they solve for your customers in each sector in JanSan – education, government, healthcare, hospitality, food service, commercial and domestic.  Sure, you sell disposable latex, nitrile vinyl, and poly gloves, but what do you really sell?  Emphasize the solutions your products provide –
  • Healthcare: “We help hospitals reduce the spread of infections.”
  • Education:We help schools reduce student absenteeism.”
  • Industrial:  “We help facilities increase productivity.”
  • Foodservice: “We help restaurants reduce cross contamination.”

Safety is Everyone’s Business.  You may not think that you are in the safety business, but safety impacts everyone in every industry. No matter how much the JanSan industry changes, there is always a need to protect the health and safety of workers.  Gloves are an essential tool for safety. Why Safety Matters for All Industries

June is National Safety Month and workplace safety is no accident.  In fact, occupational accidents and injuries affect every industry and can majorly impact an employer’s bottom line.  Businesses spend $170 billion a year on costs associated with occupational injuries and Illness. However, workplace accidents can be substantially reduced with a solid safety program incorporating personal protective equipment (PPE). This June, we encourage you to learn more about why safety matters for all industries.  Each week during National Safety Month, AMMEX will share valuable industry-specific topics, tips, and trends that you can reshare or send directly so you are a Safety Expert for your clients #‎SafetyMatters.

Safety Matters for All Industries

    • Week 1:  Safety Month Launch
    • Week 2:  JanSan Industry
    • Week 3:  Automotive Industry
    • Week 4:  Food Service Industry
    • Week 5:  Medical and Dental Industry

Why Safety Matters for All Industries

Workplace safety affects all industries – whether it’s food safety in the food service industry, chemical safety in janitorial and sanitation, or protection against biological agents in the medical and dental industry – whatever the case workplace safety matters to every industry.  In fact, the Bureau of Labor Statistics reports that workplace injuries reached 3.0 million in 2014 and occurred across all occupations.  Workplace injuries can significantly impact an employer’s bottom line.

“Creating a safe workplace is becoming increasingly important to business success.”

Employers that invest in workplace safety can expect to reduce fatalities, injuries, and illnesses. This will result in cost savings in a variety of areas, such as lowering workers’ compensation costs and medical expenses, avoiding OSHA penalties, and reducing costs to train replacement employees and conduct accident investigations. In addition, employers often find that changes made to improve workplace safety and health can result in significant improvements to their organization’s productivity and financial performance.

“Because much work is done with the hands, gloves are essential for workplace safety programs.”

Fatalities and injuries can be substantially reduced with the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).  Any form of PPE that acts as a barrier between the skin and the agent of exposure can be considered skin protection. Gloves are an essential tool in protecting workers. Some examples of gloves commonly used as PPE include leather work gloves and disposable gloves such as nitrile, latex, vinyl or poly.  Many different gloves are used for protection, generally against biological agents, chemical agents, and mechanical trauma.  Other than gloves, protection worn for the purpose of protecting the skin is considered personal protection equipment such as face masks, poly sleeves, aprons, and hair nets.

National Safety Month is a great time for employers to evaluate workplace safety programs and safety equipment. The benefits of a workplace safety program can directly affect the company’s bottom line, reducing costs and improving productivity.  AMMEX disposable gloves are sold by AMMEX distributors and trusted by the most prominent end users across a variety of industries.  Contact us today to become a distributor and supply your customers with superior quality disposable gloves and barrier protection products.

Tap into Disposable Glove Opportunities in Baseball

It’s Spring and America’s favorite pastime, baseball is in full swing!  For baseball fans everywhere the Major League Baseball season brings back the thrills of home runs on perfectly maintained turfs, tasty concession-stand foods and the fan camaraderie in the bleachers. But when the game ends and the last fans leave, another game starts – hundreds of workers labor overnight to clean up the stadium, restock the concession stands and meticulously groom the field – all before the next baseball game.  The baseball season means revenue opportunities for smart distributors of disposable gloves and barrier protection products. The Opening Day lineup is crucial for a fast start in baseball and in business. Are you ready for an early winning streak this quarter? Tap into disposable glove opportunities in baseball – Three ways you can grow your glove sales with AMMEX.

Concession Stand Food Service

What is baseball without hot dogs, peanuts, and popcorn? Did you know that the National Hot Dog & Sausage Council (NHDSC),estimates that baseball fans will consume more than 19.4 million hot dogs this year at stadiums across the country?  To avoid contamination, concession stand food service workers need disposable gloves to handle hot dogs and other foods at the concession stand.  Food service gloves such as loose-fitting poly gloves or polyethylene gloves are ideal since they easy to don and doff when switching between tasks or even between customers. Another popular choice for food service employees are vinyl gloves which are ideal in cases where greater dexterity is needed, closer-fitting vinyl gloves come in handy.  In the food service industry, workers on average use up to 20 pairs of disposable gloves per day.  But consider the food service velocity in a baseball stadium and imagine the possibilities for increased sales with poly and vinyl food service gloves.

An average baseball hot dog vendor sells about 150 hot dogs per game and 10,000 to 12,000 hot dogs per season. How many disposable gloves will an average baseball food vendor need?”

Groundskeepers

Most of the time, fans only see groundskeepers resetting the field during the seventh inning stretch, or scrambling to cover the field during a sudden rain storm. However, a great deal of work goes into maintaining that field when players and spectators are absent.  Most fields are still made of grass rather than AstroTurf, which means groundskeepers must maintain it on a day-to-day basis.   Did you know that you can earn a college degree in Turfgrass Management, a Master’s degree, and a Ph.D.?  There’s a lot of work involved in maintaining a sports field than most people would imagine. To keep a fresh green appearance, groundskeepers apply pesticides and other chemicals that could irritate or damage hands of workers.

Disposable nitrile gloves such as AMMEX Heavy Duty Orange Nitrile provide a protective barrier against chemicals and are still strong enough to protect from other irritants. In other situations, like removing thorny plants from the field, groundskeepers may need a more heavy-duty work glove like nitrile dipped or latex dipped work gloves. Tap into disposable glove opportunities in baseball – Opportunities are everywhere, from nitrile and latex disposable gloves for tasks on the turf to nitrile and latex dipped work gloves for tougher groundskeeping jobs.

JanSan Cleanup Crew

Once the crowds leave, another crowd descends on the stadium – janitorial and sanitation crews work overnight to clean up after thousands of fans. According to data from Business Insider, the average MLB ballpark is 2.49 acres, or more than 100,000 square feet, which provide endless opportunities for disposable nitrile, vinyl, and latex gloves.  All in all, cleaning up a stadium is hard work, and it is not only the seats that need attention. Janitorial staff also need to attend to bathrooms and hallways, while concession staff scrub and sanitize their areas for the night. All of these activities require disposable gloves of varying thicknesses. In the janitorial and sanitation industry employees use gloves for various reasons, including protection from harsh chemicals and pathogens. Additionally, they use an average of 15 pairs per day but consider the magnitude of the crowds and surface space in baseball stadiums.

“The average capacity of the top 20 baseball stadiums is 40,000 fans.”  How many disposable gloves are needed to clean up after that crowd?”

Janitorial staff commonly use strong cleaning chemicals in the line of duty. Glass and metal cleaners that include hydrofluoric acid, nitrilotriacetate, and phosphoric acid could cause burns or irritation if proper protective barrier such as heavy duty nitrile gloves is not worn. Bleach is one of the most common cleaning chemicals but it is also highly corrosive to the skin.  In the janitorial and sanitation industry vinyl disposable gloves, are another good option because they are economically priced but still generally provide enough chemical resistance. Vinyl gloves protect hands against hydrofluoric, phosphoric and 10 percent concentrated nitric acids. Nitrile gloves provide even greater chemical resistance and are less likely to tear.  With the potential for vinyl, nitrile and latex glove sales, distributors do not want to miss out on the many sales opportunities in the Jan-san industry.

Disposable glove sales opportunity is everywhere including baseball stadiums – from food service workers, janitorial and sanitation crews’ and groundskeepers – Tap into disposable glove opportunities in baseball and grow your glove sales with AMMEX.  Become an AMMEX Distributor today!  If you are already a distributor, speak with your dedicated sales representative to discover the advantages of our Sales Acceleration Solution®.  Stay informed on industry trends by following us on Facebook.

What are the Benefits of Disposable Nitrile Gloves?

Disposable nitrile gloves offer superior performance in a variety of work applications and across a broad range of industries. Nitrile disposable gloves are a popular alternative to latex gloves in many professions. There are lots of reasons why disposable nitrile gloves are the best choice for tough jobs.  What are the benefits of disposable nitrile gloves?

Nitrile gloves are highly puncture resistant – three to five times more so than latex.

What are the benefits of nitrile disposable gloves?

Many professions rely on the durability of Nitrile gloves, especially when exposure to blood borne pathogens and other environmental contaminants are of concern. Nitrile gloves, such as, AMMEX Powder Free Indigo Nitrile Exam, are FDA approved for medical use and are highly puncture resistant providing excellent durability, and barrier protection. These gloves are powder free, so you don’t have to worry about messy powder when working with fresh adhesives or ink. AMMEX Powder Free Indigo Nitrile gloves are commonly used by medical and dental professionals, tattoo artists, spas and salons, and in laboratory settings. These gloves are also FDA approved for food service.  AMMEX nitrile exam gloves are perfect for doctors, nurses, emergency medical technicians, tattoo artists, dentists, veterinary, and laboratory workers.

They provide a stronger barrier of protection and offer greater chemical resistance.

What are the benefits of nitrile gloves?

Nitrile rubber is more resistant than natural rubber to chemicals, oils and acids, and has superior strength. Nitrile disposable gloves such as AMMEX Gloveworks Heavy Duty Orange Nitrile gloves, are three times more puncture-resistant than latex and are more chemical resistant than latex or vinyl. In fact, nitrile is recommended for employees working with 67 percent of chemicals, 28 percent more than latex or vinyl.  Heavy Duty Orange Nitrile gloves are one of AMMEX’s premium glove products – ideal for many industries and situations, such as automotive, manufacturing, janitorial, plumbing, paint shops, heavy duty and industrial applications. When it comes to versatility, it is hard to beat AMMEX’s Heavy Duty Orange Nitrile Gloves!

Nitrile Gloves are latex-free, so anyone with a latex allergy can work safely and comfortably.

What are the benefits of nitrile disposable gloves?

Nitrile gloves have become the preferred synthetic alternative to natural rubber and are ideal when latex allergies are of concern. More medical professionals rely on the latex-free dependability of Nitrile gloves. Exam grade disposable gloves, such as AMMEX powder free nitrile gloves, are FDA approved for medical use and provides excellent strength, durability, and barrier protection against bloodborne pathogens and other environmental contaminants. The micro-roughened finish on the surface of the glove gives you a non-slip grip when gloves are either wet or dry.  These nitrile gloves are perfect for medical and dental professionals, child care and senior care.

Nitrile conforms to the shape of your hand, providing a snug and comfortable fit. What are the benefits of nitrile disposable gloves?

As body heat warms nitrile gloves, they conform closely to the hand for a better, comfortable fit.  Nitrile gloves such as AMMEX GlovePlus Black Nitrile, a premium industrial grade standard nitrile glove, are 50% thicker than standard nitrile gloves for added durability so that each pair of gloves lasts longer while you’re working.  They are more elastic than vinyl and can be used in a variety of applications, including automotive, manufacturing, janitorial and sanitation services, the industrial, safety and chemical industries and are FDA approved for food service.

A lower resistance to friction makes nitrile gloves, easier to don and doff.

What are the benefits of nitrile disposable gloves?

Nitrile rubber gloves alone have a lower coefficient of friction, making them easier to don and doff.  However, during the disposable glove manufacturing process, finishes are applied, allowing glove users to don and doff with ease, creating a seamless experience as they change gloves.  When the finish is applied to nitrile gloves it provides the following features and benefits:

  • Powder makes the gloves easier to don by absorbing excess moisture on the hands.
  • Polymer coating makes the gloves easier to slip onto the hands with a slicker finish.
  • Chlorination reduces the tackiness of the material and makes it softer.

Industries such as food processing and food service, frequently change gloves. General purpose gloves such as, AMMEX X3 Blue Nitrile gloves, offers seamless glove changes, which is perfect for short duration applications where frequent glove changes are required.  This nitrile glove is an industrial grade, blue, disposable glove commonly used in industries where dexterity is needed, such as, for food processing, janitorial, manufacturing, automotive and industrial applications. X3 gloves are also FDA approved for food service.

Nitrile gloves are versatile and their benefits are used across a large spectrum of industries. For countless industries, nitrile gloves are an ideal choice because they can offer numerous more benefits than either latex or vinyl for many applications.

Looking for nitrile gloves? AMMEX has you covered. AMMEX offers an outstanding selection of both industrial grade nitrile and exam/medical grade options. Our latex free disposable nitrile glove line-up is certain to have the right glove for your application. Looking for powder free nitrile gloves or powdered nitrile gloves, AMMEX has them. Disposable Gloves in Baseball Stadiums

The Major League Baseball (MLB) All-Star Game took place July 14 at Great American Ball Park in Cincinnati, Ohio. Most viewers tuned in for a chance to watch the best players team up and compete against each other. This year, the lineup included Dallas Keuchel of the Houston Astros and Zack Greinke of the Los Angeles Dodgers as starting pitchers as well as Los Angeles Angels Mike Trout and Andrew McCutchen of the Pittsburgh Pirates up to bat. A lot of drama played out on the field, but what would the baseball experience be without hot dogs and peanuts, not to mention a properly groomed playing field? All of these activities require the right protective gear. Here are some of the aspects of stadium upkeep that require disposable gloves:

Concession stands
Where do fans go to buy their peanuts and Cracker Jacks? At the concession stand, of course! From popcorn to ice cream sold in tiny plastic ball caps, disposable gloves abound in concession stands. To avoid contamination, workers need disposable gloves, preferably ones that are easy to don and doff. When switching between tasks or even between customers, food service workers must always change their gloves. The right choice for these employees would be poly or vinyl gloves. Loose-fitting poly gloves are perfect in most circumstances, but in cases where greater dexterity is needed, closer-fitting vinyl gloves come in handy.

“A lot of work goes into preparing the stadium for a game.”

Groundskeepers
Most of the time, fans only see groundskeepers quickly resetting the field during the seventh inning stretch, but a lot of tender loving care goes into maintaining that field when players and spectators are absent. Most fields are still made of grass rather than AstroTurf, which means landscapers need to take care of it on a day-to-day basis. To keep a fresh green appearance, groundskeepers apply pesticides and other chemicals that could irritate or damage hands of workers. Nitrile gloves provide a protective barrier against chemicals and are still strong enough to protect from other irritants. In other situations, like removing thorny plants from the field, groundskeepers want a more heavy-duty work glove, like nitrile or latex dipped gloves.

Maintenance and cleanup
Once the crowds are gone, it is the staff’s duty to get rid of the peanut shells and plastic cups to make way for the next group of fans to fill the bleachers. According to data from Business Insider, the average MLB ballpark is 2.49 acres, or more than 100,000 square feet, with plenty of nooks and crannies workers need to look over. All in all, cleaning up a stadium is hard work, and it is not only the seats that need attention. Janitorial staff also need to attend to bathrooms and hallways, while concession staff scrub and sanitize their areas for the night. All of these activities require gloves of varying thicknesses.

“Cleaning requires gloves of varying thicknesses.”

Janitorial staff use harmful chemicals in the line of duty. Glass and metal cleaners that include hydrofluoric acid, nitrilotriacetate and phosphoric acid could cause burns or irritation if staff do not use a protective barrier. Bleach is also corrosive to the skin.

Vinyl gloves are a good option for janitorial staff because they are relatively low cost but still generally provide enough chemical resistance. Vinyl gloves protect hands against hydrofluoric, phosphoric and 10 percent concentrated nitric acids. Nitrile gloves provide even greater chemical resistance and are less likely to tear.

Disposable gloves might not be in the starting lineup, but the game is a lot more fun with their support. These gloves help carry out the tasks needed to keep the field in good condition and provide the amenities that make the game more enjoyable for spectators.

Top 9 Safety Tips

Many workplaces have hazards that endanger workers, but many of these issues are avoidable with the proper training, safety gear and protocols. Here are the top workplace risks and what may be done to avoid them:

1. Keep areas free of clutter to prevent falls

Falls are one of the most common workplace injuries and resulted in 699 fatal injuries in 2013, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. Of injuries where the height of the fall was reported, one in four workers fell from a height of 10 feet or less, calling attention to the risks of falls from a short height. Even in cases with no fatalities, falling to a lower level may cause serious injuries.

Falls often occur in the workplace because of cluttered areas, slippery or uneven floor surfaces, floor holes, wall openings, unprotected edges and improperly positioned ladders. Although the U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Association has regulations requiring specific fall protection measures for different industries, falls may still be common due to a lack of safety culture in an organization. To avoid falls, companies should ensure all working areas are free from clutter. In addition, shoe covers with rubberized grips give workers better traction.

2. Implement a culture of safety

Understanding the unique risks at your company or in your industry helps managers create effective training. Emphasize the importance of safety so employees take it to heart. Workplace safety should be an early area of focus when new workers start at the company. Conduct regular inspections to identify anything that could become a hazard.

3. Keep emergency exits and equipment shutoffs accessible

Reducing clutter has multiple safety benefits. Not only will it reduce falls, but it also makes emergency exits more accessible. Maintaining clear access to emergency equipment shutoffs allows machinery to be turned off quickly.

4. Reduce workplace stress

Stressed out employees are more likely to be injured on the job. Long hours tire workers, making them less aware of their surroundings. Encourage workers to talk to their supervisors if they feel high levels of stress. Allow time for regular breaks so employees have a chance to recharge.

5. Lift correctly

Picking up heavy items improperly causes back injuries and chronic pain. Workers who need to lift heavy items should use proper form to avoid injury. Lift slowly and smoothly from the thighs, not the back. After picking up a heavy item, hold it close to the body. Use mechanical aids whenever possible to reduce the likelihood of back injuries.

6. Train workers on all tools and equipment

Heavy machinery introduces risks into the workplace when employees do not use equipment properly. Anyone who works with specific machinery should receive training. In addition, equipment should be regularly checked to ensure it stays in working order.

7. Report all hazards immediately

Safety is everyone’s responsibility. Encourage workers to report any unsafe conditions they notice in the facility to prevent injuries. Emphasizing the culture of safety increases reporting.

8. Understand chemical hazards

Workers in many industries encounter dozens of chemicals every day. Companies need to maintain a knowledge of all the chemicals they use and understand the health effects. OSHA recommends transitioning to safer chemicals. Some compounds have alternatives that present fewer health risks to employees. Only a small number of chemicals are regulated in the workplace, and 190,000 illnesses and 50,000 deaths are the result of chemical exposure every year, according to OSHA. Janitorial, automotive, pathology labs and other industries may be able to switch to chemicals that are less hazardous to workers and the environment.

9. Use the right personal protective equipment for the job

With risks in nearly every industry, some sectors must provide personal protective equipment for employees. All employees need to be educated on how to use PPE, and all gear should fit well and be comfortable, which encourages employees to make use of it. When it comes to disposable gloves for barrier protection, employers need to be mindful of chemical and puncture resistance, fit and latex sensitivities. All PPE should be tested before implemented across an organization. In addition to gloves, companies may need face masks, sleeves and other protective coverings.

Disposable Glove Growth Opportunities in the JanSan Industry

With regard to disposable glove revenue, the janitorial-sanitation industry has one of the lowest figures, but that does not mean it is not a target market for distributors. In fact, the Jan-san industry has the second-highest revenue growth potential of all sectors, indicating the market is ripe for expansion.

Jan-san employees use gloves for various reasons, including protection from harsh chemicals and pathogens. Additionally, they use an average of 15 pairs per day, which is on par with the usage rates in the medical, dental and food processing industries.

With the potential for vinyl, nitrile and latex glove sales, distributors do not want to miss out on the many sales opportunities in the jan-san industry.
